Wat gebeurde er met Florian?
Joni Howery - Schrofer schreef het volgende : "When our 2x Great grandfather came here in 1859-60, he first settled in a a very small town in Wisconsin called Bagley. At some point he lived in An area not far from where I live called the "cassel Prairie area", it runs along the river (Wisconsin River) and a flat stretch of prairie and hills with cliffs. Will try and get some pics to you of it - after my friend helps me."
"Florian (1829) married in 1859 to Margreth Meng, they left Switzerland shortly after. Sometime in 1859-60 she died. I do not know when or where, I have not found any documents yet of the ship they came over on - thinking maybe she died on the way over on the ship or shortly after they got here. In 1861, Nov 10 he married a widow with 6 children named Anna Yoggy - Luetscher, her husband Thomas died the fall before. They were from Switerland, they had a daughter, Anna and a son Thomas in before moving to USA. Here they had Mary, Elizabeth, Eva and Margaret, all born in Wisconsin. Florian went into the Civil War 1861 till it ended in 1865. Shortly after he enlisted Anna had their daughter, Ursula June 26 1862. Their son Peter was born July 4th 1866. Both Ursula and Peter were born in Sauk City Wisconsin. Eventually Florian and Anna lived in seperate towns. She remained in Prairie Du Sac (adjacent to Sauk City), and Peter lived with her. Florian moved to Bagley (quite a jaunt in those days) in Grant county Wisconsin. Anna died in 1873, Nov 15th. Peter moved in with his father. Ursula I quessing died around 1876 - so far no records found to verify. Only that my grandfather remembered his father saying his sister died when she was a teenager. Based on Federal and State census records, the last recorded date for her was 1885. There is a river (Mississippi) near Bagley, I am quessing again she may have died and that is why there is no 'burial site" for her in Her Bagely. Florain died in 1895, April 4th, and he is burried there. Unfortunately some church records that may have verified this from his church some Pastor lost."
